Training: Awareness, Prevention and Response

  • Incoming new students (undergraduate, graduate and transfer) participate in Haven’s online training that raises awareness about sexual assault, prevention and bystander intervention. The training managed by University Health Services and is funded by a generous grant from the Verizon Foundation. For more information about student health education, reach out to Samantha Smith, Assistant Director of Health Promotion (410-455-3752) or Bruce Herman, Interim Director 410-455-2472)
  • Green Dot is UMBC’s Bystander Intervention program.  Training is offered throughout the year, and upon request.
  • The Women’s Center provides a complementary training on how to effectively support a campus member who discloses that they have experienced sexual violence. (
