Campus Climate Survey on Sexual Misconduct, Diversity and Inclusion

Campus Climate Survey Results

UMBC is a special community that values excellence, inclusion and caring in the classroom, on campus, in the community and beyond.

As we emphasize the role each of us has in maintaining and supporting a safe, welcoming environment, we must reflect on our vigilant efforts and personal experiences within this caring community to discern additional opportunities to transform grit to greatness.

This self-awareness is especially necessary in the area of sexual misconduct, diversity and inclusion.

We have developed a survey in conjunction with the specifications established by the Maryland Higher Education Commission to engage with all students about their perceptions and experiences on this sensitive yet critical exchange. We would like to hear from all of you, and have designed the survey to support both privacy and candor.

The purpose of the Campus Climate Survey is to better understand how students experience diversity and inclusion, and to understand the scope and nature of sexual misconduct, including experiences with, attitudes about, and behaviors toward sexual violence.

The information is critical to tailoring diversity and inclusion efforts, and sexual violence prevention education programming and to improving the campus response. This survey will be administered to all of the approximately 13,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students that are enrolled at UMBC.

We look forward to robust participation.  If you have questions please consult our FAQ page.
